Leadership

Alternative Breaks @ UCSD is more than just your average volunteer program. We volunteer and work extensively year round on our leadership skills that can transfer into other aspects of ours lives. These leaders are not average college student by any means! Each leader participates in 1 hour of leadership training every week for at least two quarters before their alternative breaks trip, including a mandatory two day leadership retreat.

If you would like to apply for a position on the leadership team, please fill out the interest list form below:

The Site Leaders
Alternative Break trips require 2 committed site leaders that are trained extensively even prior to the start of the academic year. They then recruit members and co-lead trips nationally and internationally. Site Leaders help plan the trip from working with non-profits, to buying plane tickets. They are the logistic handlers that make the experience worth while and meaningful for the members they recruit to their Alternative Break team.

This person helps with everyone’s leadership development, as well as advising for the entire organization. This person helps the leaders deal with university policy and procedure. In addition, this person provides everyone with support on projects and the trips.
