Here is some information about the AB Philippines Summer Trip from the Site Leaders:

Building Empowerment in the Philippines

Host organization: Gawad Kalinga

Length/date: 2 weeks/ leaving 4 days after graduation

Cost: ~$2,000 (all inclusive – airfare and program fee)

Gawad Kalinga is all about building empowered communities. It is driven by a culture of caring and sharing, dedicated to eradicate poverty and restore human dignity. Its mission is to end poverty for 5 million families by 2024.
Our mission will be to work along side communities to promote a culture of empowerment. We will serve the community members by helping them with the construction of houses that will be given to families suffering from poverty (currently 4.5 million people are homeless in the Philippines). We will also get involved in projects to develop these community members into leaders, equipping them with the skills and power to work towards their mission of ending poverty.

Please feel free to contact the Site Leaders, Spencer & Abby, if you have any questions at abphilippines22012@gmail.com. Thank you. We look forward to receiving more applications!
